Legislation introduced in January 1997 require anyone who passed their driving test after this date to obtain a separate B+E licence in order for them to tow a trailer or caravan with a maximum authorised mass exceeding 750kg.

Shorecliffe Training have four instructors available for B+E and LGV training. Four of these are welsh speaking and a Welsh speaking examiner can also be provided if required (notice required)

Students must be over 17 and hold a full car licence with a Category ‘B’ entitlement.

During the test, candidates will be required to:

  1. Answer approximately 5 questions on basic vehicle checks.
  2. Reverse into a marked bay.
  3. Controlled brake test.
  4. Uncoupling & Re-coupling a trailer.
  5. Drive for approximately 1 hour around a town environment.

The test may also include hill starts and motorway driving.

  • Practical B & E test.
